Is the Filipino Really Worth Dying (or Killing) For?

All this anti-corruption talk and GMA witch-hunting by an equally Hacienda Luisita themed thieving administration is so hilarious. This is what Ninoy Aquino died for - a telecom market controlled by PLDT, a utilities market controlled by MERALCO, a media industry controlled by ABS-CBN, and Filipinos wiping ass overseas, dying as drug mules or at best, eating pagpag if living in the Philippines. And that’s what Filipinos are celebrating on August 21 - how they were duped into giving up their economic freedom and chose serfdom. It’s all about choices my friends.

Can it be undone? Yes of course, change the constitution and regain your individual economic freedom. The power to determine whether you will go for a 60% majority, or 100% majority, or 40% minority should be made based on your assessment of business conditions against your resources - NOT by the constitution. A constitution that regulates how its citizens will do business does not show the wisdom of its writers.

Binding the economic liberties of our citizens is not protecting economic freedom - it restricts it. Thus, instead of our economy growing tall like hardy trees it remains an economic bonsai - content with the crumbs thrown by ABS-CBN in its sleazy slobby dumb variety shows that feature kids gyrating their pelvises and hips. That’s what Ninoy Aquino died for? To have a media industry where only Filipinos can participate and have no competition - at the price of turning future generations of Filipinos into dancing whores and singing heads for ABS-CBN, GMA7

But I digress - that’s old hat. :)

What Investors Have to Watch Out For When Doing Business With the Masa in the Philippines

You see, we have set our sights too often on the trapos and the legislators who let the vested interests get away but we forget that we, Filipino citizens, too are very much part of the problem. Allow me to tell a story. The details have been changed to protect the character of the parties involved - but the circumstances are happening to every well-meaning straight Filipino business owners.

You see it does not matter whether:

* Ninoy Aquino died or not;
* Noynoy Aquino won or not;
* Sarah Duterte punched a sheriff or not;
* Paris Hilton junked a meetup with Noynoy Aquino (good for her!!!);
* Manny Pacquiao had a million hits on Youtube; or
* Azkals are more tisoy than snub-nosed Red Dragon rowers.

Why does it not matter? Because as one business owner of a tourist facility in Davao quipped - the masa are just as con-men and robbers as the Filipino politicians. This is his story, let us call him Inggo, . After acquiring a waterfront property - with an OCT title, Inggo set about to develop his property. He had a couple of projects, these projects were:

a) Artificial Coral reef (to increase fish yield)

Inggo finished his biology degree from a local university. Instead of taking the usual path to medical school after a biology degree, he instead opted to apply what he learned in biology. He invested time and money in setting up artificial reefs. The reefs he set up were similar to this:

This led to an increase in fish yield. The local fisherfolks nearby then scouted the location of his artificial reefs, then started fishing there. Then when their nets got caught in the reef - they destroyed the reefs - thereby, reducing the fish yield. When they returned to fish - there was no more fish because they destroyed the fish habitat. Worse they blamed Inggo for the loss in their fish catch! WTF! Cool

b) Tree planting to promote coastal rehabilitation (to protect and mitigate from erosion)

Mangrove trees protect from erosion

Every morning, Inggo would wake up at five o clock and plant mangrove shoots - in his property. Well here’s what the Filipino masses - the so-called people Ninoy Aquino died for - were doing:

  • they uproot the planted shoots - “these are just weeds”;
  • the grown trees - they cut it for firewood.

All this being done with Inggo’s assets without Inggo’s permission - or even asking for permission from Inggo. The Filipino masa feel entitled to a few snippets of Inggo’s property because he is “swerte”.

Now with all the masa nearby having the same mindset, the plants that were supposed to grow and protect from erosion are gone. Then when the rains came and their properties were under flood while Inggo’s was protected by trees - the masa blamed Inggo for the flooding!!! WTF! Cool

Then here’s where it gets dicey - instead of acting to plant trees themselves - the masa put on that grand farce of all - the victim card - and ask for a government program to plant trees. Which of course means, the masa has to pay more taxes so that government will purchase the trees which will be planted. Of course along they way, there will be corruption as vested interests compete to supply the trees to government. Before long, you will have a government agency needed to undertake the tree planting program - and more taxes are needed. Which means the masses have to shell out more taxes to pay not only for the tree supplies - but also the government bureaucracy that will attend to these supplies. Of course, the DENR will give the trees for the masa to plant. Of course, the congressmen and LGUtards will be glad to have more photo ops with the clueless ignorant masa.

So in the end - the masa still winds up planting - and a lot more poorer due to the taxes they had to pay for government to do its job. When all they needed to do really was buy or get a propagated branch and stick it to the ground. Cool

Inggo did not need the government to tell him to wake up and plant trees. In contrast, the masa wanted more government, paid more taxes, became poorer, and still had to plant trees themselves. Super gunggong talaga!!!

c) Organic fish pond (not only provides food but provides jobs as well).

Inggo invested in a fish pond to raise organic fish. His fish pond was along the river banks of the Davao’s Talomo river. Unfortunately, the Coca Cola Plant upstream, dumped its waste into the river which was feeding the pond with fresh water. Oh well, from organic fish to organic fertilizer. And, the LGU and media was more interested in keeping a lid on the story than identifying root causes, and holding the Coca Cola plant accountable.

It was Inggo’s fault - because he shouldn’t have invested in fish ponds. So what are people to do - skip on eating fish and drink Coca Cola for nutrition? Bahala na retarded basta may trabaho - as if raising fish will not also provide trabaho - sans the environmental damage. Cool

After the incident, the fish pond was restocked. The fish were getting bigger and Inggo was ready for harvest. But the pinoy masa had other ideas. One night the fishpond was drained, the fish were gone, the security guard was supposedly asleep, and the public market was awash with organic fish the following day. Yell

The same thing happened - whether Inggo had a crab farm, a nipa tree farm, and a poultry farm. The very community, whose people he hired, who benefited from the jobs created by his ventures - will be the very same community that will steal from him, malign him, destroy his property - with an attitude of entitlement to boot - “sapagka’t kami’y mahirap lamang”.

Stealing is never justified - whether you are a government official or a citizen - rich or poor alike.

As above so below, corporate thieves, politician thieves, a community of thieves. It’s the Philippines - do you really wanna die for thieves?

Did Aquino die for thieves or did thieves have him killed?

What’s in it for Marcos to kill Aquino when he already had everything?

Perhaps Aquino did not die for a telecom market controlled by PLDT, a utilities market controlled by MERALCO, a media industry controlled by ABS-CBN, and Filipinos wiping ass overseas, dying as drug mules or at best, eating pagpag if living in the Philippines - he was killed for it.

    Interesting. The country of the Philippines is like a setting for Aliens. Sigourney Weaver suggested, “I say we nuke the entire sight from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure.” I wish for a superhero in the Philippines who will kill the bad guys. Our country is all about kill or be killed. Just like the Aliens movie. Speaking of killing, it’s probably possible that Noynoy might get assassinated towards the end of his term. (It will be orchestrated by the very people benefiting from his presidency and the yellow fever…this will be another opium for the “clueless ignorant masa.”
    Thomas Jefferson is right, “Every generation needs a revolution.” I guess it’s the massa’s fault after all, they refuse to fire the first shot; let alone know whom they must aim.
    AY PINAS, MALAPIT NANG MAGUNAW ANG MUNDO SA 2012
    SO HANG IN THERE, U’LL GET A FRESH START, HOPEFULLY WITH A BETTER LOT OF PEOPLE.
